Parks & Green Space

The City of Hillsboro Parks & Recreation Department is an award-winning parks and recreation agency.

Each year thousands of residents enjoy Hillsboro parks, playgrounds, sports fields, recreational programs and facilities – Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve, Walters Cultural Arts Center, Shute Park Aquatic and Recreation Center, Tyson Recreation Center, Outdoors In, Hillsboro Community Senior Center and the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex, where the newest member of the Parks & Recreation family resides – Ron Tonkin Field.

90+ acre Gordon Faber Recreation Complex, adjacent to Highway 26, includes the 7,000-seat multipurpose Hillsboro Stadium with 170,000 square feet of FieldTurf all-weather artificial surface, the Ron Tonkin Field, and six natural grass softball fields.

Orenco Woods Nature Park site was formerly nine-hole Orenco Woods Golf Course in the Orenco neighborhood. Rock Creek flows through the site between Orchard Park upstream and Noble Woods Park downstream, with the Rock Creek Trail planned to connect all three parks.
